Dr. Lisa Dyson
Founder & CEO at Air Protein
Dr. Lisa Dyson is a mission-driven entrepreneur with a passion for creative problem solving. She is the founder and CEO of Air Protein, a modern food company that is a pioneer in the use of landless agriculture to make nutritious, protein-rich food in a sustainable way. Dyson is also the founder of Kiverdi, Inc. a biotechnology company working to create game changing carbon negative products and systems using the science of carbon transformation.
Dr. Dyson has degrees in Mathematics and Physics from Brandeis University, and Imperial College, University of London, as well as a PhD in Theoretical Physics from MIT. She worked with executives of Fortune 100 companies during her time as a Management Consultant at The Boston Consulting Group and is the recipient of numerous awards. She is a renowned thought leader in biotechnology and food innovation, speaking regularly at national and global conferences, including TED and most recently, the Bioeconomic and Biomanufacturing Summit at the White House.
Gelong Thubten
Buddhist Monk, Author, and Meditation Teacher
Gelong Thubten is a Buddhist monk, meditation teacher and best-selling author from the UK. After studying at Oxford University he embarked on a career as an actor but suffered severe burnout. This led him to join Samye Ling Tibetan Buddhist Monastery in Scotland, where he became a monk in 1993.
Gelong means ‘fully ordained monk’, and Thubten’s training has included spending over six years in intensive meditation retreats, the longest of which lasted four years. He has studied under some of the greatest Tibetan meditation masters.
Thubten is a pioneer in meditation and mindfulness teaching, with over 20 years’ experience. He designs meditation courses for medical students and has lectured at Oxford University, and has worked with major organisations such as Google and the United Nations.

Junaid Wahedna

Junaid Wahedna is the Founder and Group CEO of Wahed, the world’s first Global Islamic Robo-advisor with the aim of democratising halal investing. Junaid has a MSc in Industrial Engineering & Operations Research from Columbia University in New York. While at Columbia, he served as the Managing Editor of The Columbia Financial Review. Junaid is the holder of the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) and Certified Management Accountant (CMA) qualifications. Prior to Wahed, Junaid gained an intimate understanding of global Islamic financial markets while working for a multinational Merchant Banking firm on Wall Street, New York. Hadi Badri
Chief Executive Officer at Dubai Economic Development Corporation
As the CEO of Dubai Economic Development Corporation (DEDC) at Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), Hadi Badri is responsible for leading the DEDC team in orchestrating the implementation of projects relating to the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33. As the economic development arm of Dubai, DEDC’s mandate includes enhancing Dubai’s economic competitiveness across sectors, diversifying the emirate’s economy, attracting foreign investment and global talent, and establishing initiatives focused on advancing innovation and the contribution of Dubai’s digital economy.
Prior to joining DET, Hadi held various management roles at Emaar Properties, including as CEO of Emaar International, Group Chief Strategy Officer at Emaar and Chairman of Namshi. Hadi has served as a Board Director for Emaar Properties in 15 companies across Real Estate, E-commerce and Hospitality, including Emaar’s real estate development businesses in India, Turkey, Pakistan, Morocco and Jordan.
Previously, Hadi accumulated extensive experience working with multinational corporations across diverse fields including management consulting with Bain & Company and private equity investing with The Carlyle Group.
Hadi holds an honours degree in Economics from Tufts University in Massachusetts, USA.

Karen Levy

Karen Levy is a committed figure in the Art & Tech world, starting her career as a coordinator of a project in China (Shanghai World Expo 2010) before moving to London to work at renowned auction houses as a contemporary specialist and private clients group manager (Phillips Auction, Sotheby’s client group).
Since 2015, Karen has brought new initiatives for her family’s collection, DSLcollection, and entrepreneurial projects around art and technology. DSLcollection is one of the most renowned Chinese contemporary art collections and her goal is to share art experiences to wide audiences – including through digital initiatives.

Martin Bysh
CEO & Co-Founder at Huboo
Martin Bysh is a tech-savvy entrepreneur whose career is a remarkable tale of innovation and growth across various sectors. Beginning as a teenage gaming prodigy, he launched a European chart-topping game at just 16, heralding two decades in the gaming industry with hits like 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles'. He then pivoted to the online dating scene, establishing one of the UK's earliest dating websites in 2001. Transitioning into B2B, Bysh founded a rapid market research platform, later sold to a private equity-backed group. Maryann Bell
Family Business Advisor
Maryann is an experienced governance expert having chaired seven boards. She has worked with rising leaders over decades with students from Georgetown University and throughout her two decades in finance. Maryann began working with Professor Wing after almost 15 years at Goldman Sachs in NYC, Boston, and London where she oversaw the International Shares team. Maryann also serves as Director for the Gallivan Bell Family Office and holds an MBA from Harvard University and BA with distinction from Georgetown University.

Nikhil Goel

Nikhil Goel is the Chief Commercial Officer at Archer. After starting at Uber as a product leader on the emerging markets and rider experience teams, Goel co-founded Uber Elevate. Working alongside NASA and Uber executives, Goel helped spearhead the vision for Uber Elevate which has, in turn, inspired the approach to commercializing the industry. In 2020, Goel helped spin off the Uber Elevate business in a strategic sale to Joby Aviation. Goel has been a Senior Advisor to Archer since 2020 and prior to Uber held roles at McKinsey & Company, Google, Microsoft, and NASA. He attended Vanderbilt University and earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a double major in computer engineering and economics.
Noor Sweid

With $300 million AUM, and financial returns rating it as a top decile fund, Global Ventures has become a leading investor across the Middle East and Africa.
Prior to Global Ventures, Noor was the first woman to operate, scale, and IPO a company in the MENA region, listing Depa on NASDAQ Dubai and the London Stock Exchange for US$1.1 billion in April 2008. Noor scaled Depa tenfold, expanding operations from six countries to 22, including four cross-border acquisitions.
Noor is an active, independent board director of Clue, the largest femtech company in Europe. She is the Founding Chairwoman of the Middle East Venture Capital Association, a Director of the Global Private Capital Association, TechWadi, and the Karman Fellowship.
Ola Doudin

Ola Doudin is the co-founder & CEO of BitOasis, the first and largest regional digital asset platform in the Middle East. She has an engineering background and has worked in tech and security advisory in Ernst & Young in London and engineering research prior to her move back to the region where she got involved in tech entrepreneurship and later started BitOasis. Patrick has taken 6 companies from Start Up to IPO and his most recent IPO was Catcha Investment Corp which raised US$300m in a NYSE IPO in 2022.

Professor Christina Wing is on the faculty of Harvard Business School (HBS) where she focuses her research primarily on topics surrounding family enterprises. She chairs HBS’ Families in Business executive education programme, and co-chairs the Family Office Wealth Management and Rising Generation programmes. Prior to this, Professor Wing held a variety of roles within the finance and general management fields and was most recently president and CEO of a family office. As well as being a Senior Advisor at Crestview Partners, Professor Wing is also on the Board of Ambassadors of The Steppingstone Foundation, an organisation providing educational opportunities to underserved children.
Professor Wing graduated from Southern Methodist University with a BBA in finance and organisational behaviour and business policy and also earned an MBA from HBS. She is passionate about her family, dogs, friends, students, family clients and golf.
Rob and Paul Forkan
Founders at Gandys
Rob and Paul Forkan founded Gandys in 2011 in memory of their parents Sandra and Kevin who they tragically lost in the 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami.
Gandys is a travel fashion brand with a spirit of adventure and a mission to give back. The Gandys’ ethos, ‘Inspired by Travel Fuelled by Giving Back’, encourages people to seize the day and do more to help others along the way. Proceeds from the brand have so far helped to build children's campuses in Sri Lanka, Malawi, Nepal, two in Brazil, Mongolia, with a seventh and eighth soon opening in Guatemala and Sri Lanka. These campuses offer vital support to children including nutrition, medication and education.

Annabel Spring
CEO, HSBC Global Private Banking & Wealth
Annabel was appointed CEO, HSBC Global Private Banking and Wealth in September 2020. She joined HSBC in April 2019 and prior to her current role she led retail banking and wealth product teams including sustainability, customer experience and advocacy and the global propositions. She was also responsible for data and analytics, digital messaging experiences and sales across WPB.
From 2009-2018 Annabel was a member of the Group Executive of the Commonwealth Bank where she was Group Executive of the Wealth Management Division, and Global Head of Strategy responsible for mergers and acquisitions, government relations and communications, reporting to the CEO. Prior to CBA Annabel was Managing Director, Global Head of Firm Strategy and Execution at Morgan Stanley, reporting variously to the CEO, Co-Presidents and Chairman and responsible for strategy mergers and acquisitions until 2009. She also worked in corporate finance, capital markets, leveraged finance and treasury in Morgan Stanley after joining the Firm in 1994.
She holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelors of Laws and Economics from the University of Sydney.
Ali Razvi

Ali leads HSBC’s real estate investment banking business across Europe, Middle East and Africa across all products. In addition, Ali leads the coverage of certain clients across diversified industries in the Middle East. Ali has been based in Dubai since 2017. Previously Ali ran HSBC’s Infrastructure and Real Estate Advisory and Financing businesses in the MENAT region since 2017, and before that he was based in London covering the EMEA real estate sector since 2004.
Andra Ilie
Senior Adviser - Family Office, Governance and Philanthropy, HSBC Global Private Banking
Andra advises on matters of family office, governance and philanthropy, working closely with families and individuals in the UK and across EMEA. Andra started her career at Deloitte, in the Private Client Tax Team advising multigenerational families on structuring their international affairs before moving into a Single Family Office role.
In 2018, 2020 and 2021, Andra was named as one of private client's Top 35 Under 35 and has subsequently achieved STEP Certificates in Family Business Advising and for the highest scoring paper globally. She was listed in the Future Leaders Top 100 list by Citywealth in 2022 and in 2019 won a SILVER Award for Financial Advisory / UHNW Services Individual of the Year.

Benjamin Chodroff
Head of HSBC Lab
Benjamin Chodroff is the Head of HSBC Lab as part of Innovations and Ventures team based in Shanghai, China. He leads research and development on applications in digital ledgers, tokenisation, and Web 3.0 while overseeing activities in Generative AI and Quantum Computing. Ben holds patents in server virtualization and advertising in metaverses.
He has made publications in cloud security, IoT, and the author of Ethereum EIP-4736. He previously has worked at IBM as a software developer, and a CTO at an IoT startup and a cryptocurrency exchange. He graduated from Case Western Reserve University with a BSE degree in Computer Engineer and minor in music.
Gabriel Castello
CEO of Swiss Private Bank, Regional Head of HSBC Global Private Banking EMEA
Gabriel Castello joined HSBC in 2022 as CEO of Swiss Private Bank, Regional Head of Global Private Banking EMEA, and Country Head of Switzerland. With over 30 years of experience in private banking, he has held a number of senior roles in private banking in Switzerland, France and Spain.
Gabriel began his career at La Caixa, Spain, working across wealth management and corporate finance, including as CEO of CaixaBank France. He then joined UBS as CEO of France, before moving to Zurich in 2008 to lead the banks’ Wealth Management business for LATAM, Caribbean and Europe International and later became Executive Chairman of Global Wealth Management at UBS Switzerland.
Prior to joining HSBC, Gabriel was a Partner at Quintet Private Bank AG in Zurich, Switzerland. Gabriel holds an MBA from IESE, Barcelona and a PhD in Economics from the University of Madrid and La Sorbonne in Paris
Genane Maalouf
Director in HSBC Private Credit MENAT
Genane Maalouf is a Director in HSBC’s Private Credit MENAT team. She structures and executes bank debt that gets distributed to institutional investors. She also buys and sells special situation/distressed loans. Prior to that, Genane was part of the Leveraged and Acquisition Finance team having underwrote, originated and managed over 80 debt transactions for corporate clients and private equity firms in various sectors to achieve acquisitions, mergers, leverage buyouts and restructuring.
Prior to moving to MENAT, Genane previously worked for Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi in their leverage finance and financial sponsor group in the United States. Genane holds an MBA degree in Finance from the University of Southern California and a BBA from the American University of Beirut.
Jackie Mau
Head of Global Private Banking, HSBC China
Jackie is responsible for leading the onshore private banking business for HSBC in mainland China, growing teams across relationship management, investment counsellors, products and business management. His teams span across six cities, providing onshore private banking services and bespoke wealth management solutions to serve high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients.
Jackie has more than 20 years of financial markets experience. Since joining HSBC in 2003 he has held a number of senior client-facing roles across global markets and private banking in mainland China, Hong Kong and Thailand, as well as assignments across various countries in Asia.
Before moving to mainland China in 2021, Jackie was Regional Head of UHNW for Asia at HSBC Global Private Banking, spearheading the strategic growth of the UHNW business, leading the coverage teams and developing propositions for sophisticated clients and family offices. Prior to that, he was the Regional Head of Investment Counselling, Asia Pacific and Co-Head of Investment Services and Product Solutions, Asia Pacific for HSBC Global Private Banking.
Joseph Assouad
Managing Director, Private Capital Group, Head of Sovereign Wealth Funds Coverage Investment Banking, HSBC
Joseph joined HSBC’s Investment Bank in London in 2007 and has 17 years of investment banking and capital markets experience across equity capital markets, equity-linked capital markets, strategic equity & financing and M&A. Over the course of his tenure at HSBC, Joseph has advised on a number of successful high-profile equity, equity-linked and M&A transactions across both developed and emerging markets.
Joseph is currently a Managing Director in HSBC’s Private Capital Group, covering sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, family Offices and financial sponsors. Joseph received a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer & Communication Engineering from the Lebanese American University and a Master of Science in Banking & Finance from the European Business School London.
Julian Wentzel
Head of HSBC Global Banking MENAT
Julian is the Head of Global Banking MENAT at HSBC and was appointed to the role in September 2022. Julian has more than 25 years of banking experience across client coverage, capital markets and advisory. His banking experience spans Mergers and Acquisitions, Markets, Syndication, Equity Capital Markets and Research, and he has participated in and advised on key foreign listings including Anglo American and SABMiller.
He joined HSBC in 2015 in London before relocating to Johannesburg in 2016 to lead Global Banking’s Africa business. In 2019, he returned to London as Head of Global Banking UK and International Europe. Before joining HSBC in 2015, Julian spent 10 years at Macquarie as Head of Equities for EMEA. Prior to that, he worked at JPM Cazenove where he held a number of senior investment banking positions including Co-Head of Equities, South Africa.
Purvi Amin
Managing Director, Global Solutions Group, HSBC Global Private Banking
Purvi joined HSBC in 2005 and is currently Head of the Ultra High Net Worth Solutions Group in the UK. Her team works with UHNW entrepreneurs and Family offices to deliver a bespoke set of global markets and corporate finance solutions, leveraging the wider HSBC Group.
This includes assisting business owners at various stages of their value creation journeys - capital raisings, liquidity events and investing in new businesses.
Purvi and her team have recently helped a digital healthcare company, renewable batteries business and media tech group to raise capital through their family office investor access.
Prior to her current role, Purvi spent 10 years in Investment Banking at HSBC, advising clients across the Consumer sector on M&A, with a particular focus on the Global Household & Personal care markets.
Purvi graduated from the London School of Economics with a BSc in Economics.
Russell Prior
Head of Family Governance, Family Office Advisory & Head of Philanthropy EMEA, HSBC Global Private Banking
Russell leads family governance, family office advisory, family enterprise and wealth succession, philanthropy, and social investment advice to clients across EMEA. This involves working with family businesses and families on the issues surrounding ownership and wealth transition.
Before joining HSBC, Russell was Executive Director at Charities Aid Foundation leading their philanthropy, corporate community investment and charity financial services in nine countries around the globe.
Russell is Chair of the London Community Foundation, and until recently had been Chair of the Bell Foundation for eight years. Russell was previously a Council Member of the European Foundation Centre and Chair of the UK Finance Hub, which worked to support charities financial capabilities. He has been a Trustee of numerous charitable foundations; run the ‘philanthropy offices’ for several major philanthropists and held a number of Non-Executive Director positions. He is also the author of Family Governance and Surplus Wealth: Sustaining Family Fortunes published in June 2021.
Simon Li
Private Markets Investment Specialist, Asia Pacific at HSBC Asset Management
Simon joined HSBC Asset Management in Hong Kong in 2019 and assumed the role of Private Markets Investment Specialist, Asia Pacific in 2023. He plays a key role in managing key institutional and private bank client relationships, supporting fundraising initiatives, developing new investment products and solutions, and growing the overall business for the Private Markets capability in the Asia Pacific region.
Prior to that, Simon was the Regional Product Specialist for Alternatives, supporting sales and client engagement, fundraising activities, and business development across a full spectrum of Alternatives asset classes in the form of both direct funds and indirect funds of funds. Previously, Simon also had experience working within various other functions including Multi-Asset Investments and Credit Research. He is also a CFA and CAIA Charterholder.
Xian Chan
Managing Director, Head of Investments & Wealth Solutions, HSBC UK
Xian is the Global Head of Digital Assets for HSBC’s Wealth and Personal Banking business, leading the global design and implementation of digital asset strategy and helping to drive HSBC’s consumer division into the future of Web 3.0. In addition, he is also Head of Investments and Wealth Solutions for HSBC UK.
Previously, Xian was Chief Investment Officer, Wealth and Global Head of Research and Insights of HSBC’s private banking and wealth segments. He joined HSBC in 2012 as a Senior Fund Manager in Asset Management, managing $7bn of multi-asset class investments. Prior to HSBC, Xian worked as a Portfolio Manager at EFG International and Barclays, managing multi-asset portfolios for private bank clients and family offices.
Before starting his finance career, Xian worked as a Legal Counsel and Military Prosecutor with the Singapore Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces. He is a non-executive board member at the University of Kent in the UK.
